Thermal Scanner as Influenza Detector

Thermal scanner is a tool that capable to detect a high temperature of body. With this tool, the prospective passenger in a condition of fever can be detected as a symptom of disease of swine influenza, Singapore influenza, SARS, or avian influenza.

Thermal scanner automatically shows marked red on the computer screen if video camera captures a movement a fever. Officers will stop the passenger before entry to the body clean disinfects. Although these two instruments have been installed since last February at Polonia Airport, Medan, officer has not been found outside the passenger conditions in the country fever.

Head of Public Communication Center(Dephub), Bambang Supriyadi Ervan said, there are 10 airports that the body temperature scanner will be installed usually called thermal scanner:

Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport, Polonia (Medan) airport, Minangkabau (Padang), Soekarno Hatta (Cengkareng), Juanda (Surabaya), Hasanuddin (Makassar), Samratulangi

(Manado), Ngurah Rai (Denpasar), Sultan Syarif Kasim II (Pekanbaru) and Sepinggan

(Balikpapan).
